I can’t imagine being anywhere but here for this wedding. San Francisco is such an amazing city. I remember the first time I saw it about 14 years ago. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. It’s like no other city I’d ever seen. It doesn’t feel like you’re even in the United States. It disorients you. My plane must have taken a wrong turn and gone to…..Europe? The Mediteranean? All you want to do is explore and get to know every block it. On the right day, from the right vantage point, I could just stare at the city for hours. It’s like having a crush. It’s a city that knows and embraces its past without sentimentalizing it. And of course, it’s Gay, USA. If we’re going to get married it might as well be at the epicenter of it all.

- On Tuesday, June 17th, we'll be one of the first same-sex couples to be legally married in the State of California. We had been talking about doing this since the ruling was handed down on May 16th but we couldn't decide. The ruling allowed same-sex couples from anywhere in the U.S. to be married, effective June 16th at 5:01. A weekends worth of wedding activities for our friends/colleague cinched the deal. After Kevin, the groom, gave a heartfelt speech, Kelly turned to me and said, "we have to get married." Then we thought, while we're at it, why not do it on the first day and be part of history?! So, we'll travel from Minneapolis to San Francisco and keep you posted on the adventure - as often as possible. Thanks for following along.
